Although many people can and do find love on online dating sites, there are also so many perils that come along with them. Who can say for certain who is on the other end of the connection? For one Auburndale, Florida man, his search for love online led to tragic results. The woman he was meeting intended to rob him, which then led to a tragic fate after he was shot and killed during the robbery.
The 27-year-old man had signed up on the dating site, “Plenty of Fish,” where he met the 18-year-old woman. After their first date, they had made plans to meet again for a second date, which occurred last Thursday. What was believed to be another date, however, turned into much more tragic circumstances. When the woman arrived to the date, she brought three other men with her to carry out the robbery.
The woman agreed to participate when she was promised a payment of $50 for her part. The situation became dire when one of the armed accomplices shot the man in the head, killing him. The four were charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with a firearm/deadly weapon, and first-degree murder.
